What changes in the output
- JPG has no transparency channel; transparent areas are flattened during export.
- The image is decoded and re-encoded, so original EXIF and other container metadata should not be assumed to remain.
- Very large images can exceed the browser memory budget even when the file itself is under the size limit.
A useful check before deleting the original
Convert one representative photo first and compare orientation, fine detail, color, and the resulting JPG file size.

- Check orientation and edge detail at 100% zoom.

Is the source file uploaded?

Does JPG keep all HEIC metadata?
